FREQUENTLY ASKED

Questions about how this works

The questions that come up on almost every call, answered here so the call can start somewhere further along.

Before anything starts

What does it cost?
There is a monthly retainer and there is ad spend, and they are separate. The ad spend goes to Google and Meta out of your own accounts, and in most cases it is money already being spent. The retainer is the incremental cost. The number depends on how many channels are in scope and how much of the response side has to be built from nothing, so it is quoted on the call rather than published, once there is enough detail for the quote to mean something.
How long before it is running?
The response automation is the fastest part and is usually live in the first two to three weeks, because it is built on what you already charge and how you already work. Campaigns start in the same window but are not worth judging for about six weeks: before that there is not enough converted data to rebuild the targeting from, and reading the numbers earlier leads to changing things that were working.
Do we have to sign a long contract?
No. The reason agencies ask for twelve months is that the work does not survive being stopped, and that is a description of the wrong kind of build. Everything here is in your accounts and keeps running whether the retainer does or not, which removes the need for the contract to do that job.
What do you need from us to start?
What you charge, what you will not agree to, how somebody asks you about it today, and access to the accounts that already exist. The approval of the offer, the copy and the rules is the one part that cannot be delegated, and it happens once, at the start.

What you own

Who owns the campaigns, the data and the automations?
You do, from the first day. The ad accounts, pixels, audiences, landing pages, creative, automations and the enquiry data are all in your accounts under your billing. Nothing is built inside a Clynaire account. If the work stops, none of it moves.
What happens if we stop working together?
The campaigns keep serving, the automations keep answering and the reporting keeps arriving, because none of it is hosted anywhere you cannot reach. What stops is the weekly pass: the rebuilding of targeting from converted data, the creative rotation and the changes made when a number moves. That is the part being paid for, and it is honest to say that it is the part that decays.

Whether this fits

Which businesses is this for?
Not an industry, a situation: enquiries already arrive, some of them go cold before anybody reaches them, the fastest responder is the owner, and nothing currently says which channel is working. The four businesses running it today are in aesthetics, mobility, automotive and general services, which is four industries with one problem in common.
Which businesses is this not for?
A business with no demand yet. If nobody is asking, the gap this closes does not exist and the honest answer is that the money is better spent on the offer first. That answer gets given on the call, and it is the reason the call is worth having even when it ends there.
We already have an agency. Does this replace them?
Sometimes, and it is worth being specific about what is missing rather than assuming. A campaign agency that delivers leads and stops is not doing the response and attribution work, and those can be added around what already runs. Where the campaigns themselves are the problem, running two sets of them in parallel is not a test, it is two budgets competing in the same auction.
Is the automated reply pretending to be a person?
No. It answers the question with your real prices and your real availability, and it does not claim to be somebody. Anything outside the rules it was given stops and comes to you with the conversation attached rather than improvising.

The call

What happens on the call?
Thirty minutes. We come to it having read the form and having looked at how an enquiry reaches you today, so it starts at what we would run rather than at who we are. If the answer is that you do not need this yet, that gets said on the call and you get the half hour back.
What happens to what we send you in the form?
It is read by us and used to prepare for the call. It is not sold, not shared and not used to sign you up to anything. The privacy notice sets out what is kept, for how long, and how to have it deleted.

Half an hour, and you will know what we would run.

Tell us what you sell and how somebody asks you about it today. We come to the call having already looked.
